Fairtrade Fortnight 2011 is approaching

This year, Fairtrade Fortnight will run from 28th February until 13th March. The theme will be Show Off Your Label, so be prepared to be as loud and proud about fairtrade as you can!

There are loads of ideas for how you can show off the fairtrade mark on the Fairtrade Foundation website, but here is just one of them:

By clicking here, you can order a free bunting kit to decorate yourself. Your 22 cotton triangles can shout about what fairtrade means to you in any way you like, and you can use them to help promote your fair trade fortnight event. When the fortnight is over, you can send your bunting back to the Fairtrade Foundation to be a part of their world record attempt for the longest continuous bunting! What a creative way to be a part of the fairtrade movement!

There are many more wonderful free goodies on the Fairtrade Foundation website to help you get the most out of the fortnight – whether you are part of a business, or an individual supporter.

Look out for more news on our website about how we will be getting involved in fairtrade fortnight. In the mean time, why not pop into Fairdo’s and start getting inspired for how you can show off the label? Perhaps you need ingredients to bake fairtrade cakes that shout about their quality taste, or bags and clothing that carry the fairtrade label so you don’t even have to do any of the hard work!

And don’t forget we run a sale or return service all year round for volunteers to run their own fairtrade stalls. With one particular focus being cotton during fairtrade fortnight, you could even think about taking some of our clothing and linens to sell on your stall. We look forward to seeing you soon.
