FAIR DO’S STAFF
Founder/Executive Director: Jan Tucker
Jan is the Executive Director of Fair Do’s and is the legal owner of the shop along with her husband Rob. Jan was the seventh representative to sign up with Traidcraft back in 1979. For a number of years she was Traidcraft’s Wales Representative and ran the Regional Stockbase for them.She started up Fair Do’s as an independent business in 1997, having previously run a regional stockbase for Traidcraft. In 1998, the shop moved to its current location in Canton.
As well as working at Fair Do’s, Jan is involved in the wider fair trade movement, enabling the shop to be active in the fair trade network in Wales.
Member of staff: Trish Paterson
Trish has been involved in fair trade for many years, and was a key volunteer in Traidcraft’s regional stockbase. She takes responsibility for our heavily used stockroom.
Director and member of staff: Ruth Poole
Ruth works part time at the shop, and is responsible for the financial side of the business. She had been involved in selling fair trade goods in her church for many years,Company Secretary and member of staff: Alison Hill
Alison takes responsibility for shop and window displays. She has been promoting fair trade in her church for many years.
Member of staff: Cathy Matthias
Cathy worked as a volunteer, especially on our annual fashion shows before joining the staff team in 2006. As a freelance designer, she has seen some of her wrapping paper designs appear in Traidcraft catalogues.
Member of staff: Clare Reay
Clare became a member of staff in 2009. She keeps the shop website up to date with information on new stock and events.
Director: Jon Matthias
Jon has been involved with Fair Do’s since 1996 and has been an unpaid Company Director since Fair Do’s was incorporated in 2002. Jon also served on the board of the British Association of Fair Trade Shops from 2003-04 and has been a lifelong supporter of fair trade.
